OSKAR combines the best features of metal baskets, bowls and barrels to make a fire in your garden or on your patio safe and convenient. The OSKAR design also minimises the drawbacks of conventional fire bowls, fire barrels and fire baskets.

Like a campfire, shallow, open fire bowls can release uncontrolled sparks. The same applies to fire baskets, as their open bars can become hazardous if the wind suddenly picks up or changes direction. Conventional fire barrels, which are usually simple sheet-metal drums, tend to produce smoke due to poor ventilation.

OSKAR does it all better! At its heart is an approximately 33.5-centimetre-deep combustion chamber within a twin-wall body made from grade 304 stainless steel. Its outer diameter is 53 centimetres, while the inner diameter is 47 centimetres.

Optimally controlled airflow for efficient combustion
The twin-wall construction means the outer wall and base heat up less than the internal surfaces – ideal for efficient airflow! But this is only one feature of the sophisticated system for optimally controlled airflow. Numerous precisely positioned holes also create virtually ideal conditions for an excellent fire without smoke and at the best possible combustion temperature.
The rule of thumb is simple: the better and hotter a fire burns, the lower its emissions. It will also generally leave no lingering "campfire smell", even after the flames have gone out. Ideally, after a cosy evening around the original OSKAR portable fire pit, only fine ash will remain.

To empty OSKAR, simply tilt it onto its side, then sweep or vacuum it out.

A fireproof surface is essential for use!

Although the outer shell and base heat up far less than the combustion chamber, the surface on which you use the fire pit must be fireproof. Stone, concrete or metal slabs provide a suitable base to protect the surface below. Do not use it on unprotected timber decking!

At 19 kilograms, the OSKAR portable fire pit is heavier than similar products, which offers real advantages. It allows the heat to be used more effectively, as the heated stainless steel continues to provide pleasant warmth even as the fire dies down. The main reason for its significantly more robust construction than usual is our aim to create a product that is exceptionally strong, retains its shape even under heavier use and is genuinely long-lasting. High combustion temperatures and exposure to the weather may cause stainless steel to develop a slight bronze tint over time. Good care – simple cleaning is usually enough – and weather protection during longer periods without use help keep OSKAR looking almost like new.
